| Description | Clean Water Action is a national nonprofit organization that develops strong grassroots coalitions, organizations and citizen leadership to improve health, consumer safety, and the environment and support community quality of life. We have offices in 22 politically-key states and personally contact more than 3 million households every year to educate and encourage participation in our democracy. Since 1971 Clean Water Action has helped develop, pass, strengthen and defend the nation's major water and pollution laws, calling for changes in technologies and polices to better protect health, workplaces, communities and the environment. Our organizing has empowered citizen leaders, organizations and coalitions to improve environmental conditions in hundreds of communities and to strengthen policies at all levels, from local to national. Our organizing has created and developed a number of the nation's most effective grassroots groups and coalitions, which have led the nation in passing laws to protect health and environment. |
